Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman successfully led :

Bengalis have had to go through a long struggle for independence. After the end of the British Raj, the state of Pakistan which emerged based on the Biracial theory was also subjected to the exploitation and oppression of the West Pakistanis by the Bengalis. The first blow came on the mother tongue. In 1952, the children of Bengali mothers created a unique history in the world by establishing the right to mother tongue. The emancipation of the consciousness of freedom that took place through the language movement, in the course of the movement, over time took the form of the freedom movement.

In his historic speech in front of millions of people at Ramna Racecourse Maidan (now Suhrawardy Udyan) on March 7, 1971, he asked everyone to be ready with whatever they have to face the enemy. He said this time the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for freedom. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman successfully led the struggle for the socio-economic and political rights of the people of this country and the establishment of an independent state. He inspired millions of people with the mantra of freedom. He was accompanied by a group of political leaders with the same goal. We remember all of them with deep respect.

On this day in 1971, Victory day 50 years ago today :

In 1947, India was partitioned by the British, creating the ‘Dominion of Pakistan’, which was two separate regions to the northwest and northeast of India. The new dominion was governed from West Pakistan, which led to frictions between the two regions.

On the night of March 25, 1971, the Pakistani aggressors, armed with heavy weapons, attacked the unarmed, sleeping Bengalis. They were involved in barbaric killings. They arrested Bangabandhu from Dhanmondi No. 32 that night. But before that, he declared independence with the message of the genocide of Pakistani forces on Bengalis. In that declaration, he called on the people to continue the struggle against the invading forces until victory is achieved. The heroic sons of the country responded to Bangabandhu’s call and surrendered in a fierce resistance struggle against the invaders. After a long 9-month struggle, the Bengalis won the war of liberation through the self-sacrifice of 3 million martyrs, respect of 2 lakh mothers and sisters, and huge loss of resources. On this day in 1971, 50 years ago today, the invading Pakistani forces surrendered at Ramna Racecourse Ground. Independent Bangladesh emerged on the world map Red-green.

The victorious Bengalis raised the flag. The journey of Bengalis on the path of progress is being carried by raising that flag. on the occasion of the great victory day, innumerable people will lay wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar. People of all classes and professions will take part in the victory celebration all over the country including the capital. Today is a public holiday. The national flag will be hoisted in public and private institutions. The main roads and road islands of all major cities including the capital will be decorated with national flags. At night important buildings and installations will be illuminated. Improved food will be served in hospitals, prisons, orphanages.

The joy of victory in the homes of Bengalis :

The oppressed East Bengal had been fighting for independence since before 1971, the beginning of which was manifested through the language movement of 1952. Bengalis did not unite after seeing any party, religion, or tribe. Nationality Bangladeshi became a Bengali and fought for a complete sovereign territory in 1971. Religion did not create any obstacle to save people then. Rather, the main objective of the Bengalis was to save lives and make the country independent. To fight together, a brave Bengali dreamed of building an independent, Pakistan-free homeland at the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In the long nine-month war of liberation, the Bengalis were able to prove how strong the bond of harmony was.

Now is the month of victory. The joy of victory in the homes of Bengalis. On the day of victory on 16th December, Bangladesh is unwavering in its path to becoming a developed country of the world. This requires equal participation of people of all religions in the development of the country. Holding hands with each other, we will move forward to the beloved motherland. The stronger the bond of brotherhood between us, the less international conspiracies and domestic strife will be. May the reputation of Bangladesh remain intact at home and abroad, may the joy of victory rise in the minds of the Bengalis in bright youth. May the red-green flag be exalted for the sacrifices of 3 million martyrs of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is like the voice of George Harrison and the tune of Ravi’s Setar :

Although democracy and freedom of speech were established, the democratic institutions could not be strong even today. The lack of commitment to take democracy to all levels is painful. Deep divisions in the political arena; At the same time, disunity in the national question has become a major obstacle in our way forward. anti-independence forces are still active in the country.

Let Bangladesh be like the voice of George Harrison and the tune of Ravi’s Setar.  I always remember George Harrison & Rav’s Songs.  The Bangladesh song will forever resonate with the people of Bangladesh.
