In 1959, Lata ji sang the first Bangla song under the direction of Salil Chowdhury. The song was ‘No, don’t go, the night is still left’. Lata ji has sung many songs to the tune of Salil Chowdhury. His songs ‘Rangila Banshite, O Mor Moyna Go, Sat Bhai Champa’ are still very popular. From Madhubala to Dimple Kapadia, Lata G’s voice could be heard in the voices of top Bollywood actresses.
